The CASEnergy Coalition participated in the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) 31st Annual Legislative Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 12-16, 2007.
The conference brought together over 500 state legislators from around the country. The theme was “Seeing beyond stronger economies, stronger states” and focused on bringing financial security and economic growth to communities across the United States. NBCSL is resolved to supporting efforts to mitigate the economic impact of climate change on financially stressed communities
Throughout the conference, CASEnergy was able to raise the awareness of nuclear energy by distributing numerous membership packets, flashlights and pamphlets to legislators and their staff. Many of the legislators that visited the CASEnergy booth were interested in solving the current energy crisis. Their positions related to sources of alternative energy, protecting the environment and exploring economic opportunities for minorities in the energy industry.
Overall, we were able to meet and introduce CASEnergy to many of the state legislators attending the conference.
