Associated Industries of Florida (AIF)
Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) is known as “The Voice of Florida Business Since 1920.” We are a consortium of both individual companies and associations whose purpose is to advocate on issues important to the business community in Florida. We are the state affiliate for the National Association of Manufacturers and have been since 1951.
In December of 2005, AIF became the first general purpose business association in Florida to endorse drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. In the process of doing so, we learned how very important energy was to all sectors of Florida’s economy and our members. When we endorsed drilling, we also endorsed nuclear power, and all forms of green or alternative energy. We have two utility companies who are members of AIF that have plans for increasing their nuclear power output in the state, and we have endorsed their applications.
