In conjunction with his trip to Mississippi for Jackson State University’s “Nuclear Policy Forum,” CASEnergy Co-Chair Dr. Patrick Moore penned an op-ed for the Clarion Ledger, which was published on Saturday, January 23. In “Expansion of nuclear power generation will aid Miss,” Dr. Moore argues that the construction of a new reactor at Entergy’s Grand Gulf site in Port Gibson would have enormous job creation potential while helping to provide clean, reliable and sustainable energy to the state of Mississippi. Dr. Moore cites the growing consensus in support of nuclear, a point further illustrated by several favorable on-line comments by Ledger readers, including one remark about meeting future energy demand, “Coming from a co-founder of Greenpeace, this article should open the eyes of all citizens, especially the younger generation: the ones who will be in dire need for power in 2030, 2040 and 2050.”
