Following the release of the Department of Energy’s 2011 budget provisions this week, Governor Whitman was interviewed by Clean Skies Sunday about the impact of the additional $36 billion in proposed loan guarantees for new nuclear projects, a tripling of the original $18.5 billion previously allocated. Governor Whitman discussed how this additional investment will prompt the acceleration of new nuclear plant construction, resulting in the creation of thousands of high-paying, long-term jobs.
