The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the industry’s independent regulator, has given Dominion Virginia Power the green light to restart the North Anna Power Station just outside of Richmond following the earthquake that occurred just miles from the facility this summer.

An independent poll released by Quinnipiac University has found that most Virginians remain in favor of nuclear energy use to meet their state’s electricity needs, roughly two months after a severe hurricane centered nearby the state’s North Anna nuclear facility.
