Gov. Whitman participated on the “Is Green Still Hot?” panel at the National Urban League Annual Conference.
CASEnergy Coalition Co-Chair Christine Todd Whitman discussed job opportunities in nuclear energy at a July 28 panel discussion on green jobs at the 2011 National Urban League Annual Conference in Boston.
This year, the conference focused on economic empowerment and rebuilding America through new job opportunities. Gov. Whitman served on a panel titled, “Emerging Opportunities: Is Green Still Hot?” Gov. Whitman spoke for nearly 10 minutes about the high-paying, long-term career opportunities for minorities in the nuclear sector. Sonia Alleyne, editorial director forBlack Enterprise Magazine, moderated the event. Other panelists included Dr. Patrick Graham, CEO of Urban League of Central Carolinas, Robin Wilson, Eco-Friendly Interior Designer and Loh-Sze Leung, ED for SkillWorks.
During the conference, Gov. Whitman had a chance to meet with several key influencers including members of The New England Council, Robert Rio of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts and several Urban League Affiliate presidents from across the country.
