Minorities in Nuclear Energy

Clean and Safe Energy (CASEnergy) Coalition strives to bring together unlikely allies in support of affordable, clean and reliable nuclear energy, including prominent national and regional organizations representing minority communities.  Wondering if an organization you belong to is a member?  Check out our membership list for organizations and individuals like you who support nuclear energy!

Why It’s Important

Academic programs at HBCUs like Lincoln University and South Carolina State University and national organizations like American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) are champions of the opportunities available through nuclear energy. Despite the success of these organizations and institutions, there is tremendous room in the market to increase the role of minorities in our nuclear future as customers, providers and suppliers. At a time when unemployment numbers remain high for African-American and Latino communities, nuclear energy is a fast-growing sector that offers accessible long-term, high-paying careers in communities across the United States.

Throughout this section, you will find important resources on the value nuclear energy provides to minority communities, including jobs, educational opportunities and economic development.
